International Yoga Day to Be Celebrated at Kailash–Manasarovar, Promoting Nepal as a “World Guru Nation”
Kathmandu — This year’s International Yoga Day will be celebrated with special spiritual significance at the sacred sites of Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. According to organizers, a grand program will be आयोजित at Manasarovar on June 21, with the participation of yogis, spiritual practitioners, and seekers from around the world, as part of the Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation).
The “Global Awakening Journey,” scheduled from June 15 to 25, 2026, aims to establish Nepal as a “World Guru Nation.” Participants are expected from countries including the United States, Israel, India, Japan, and Australia, bringing together a diverse community of yogis, meditators, and spiritual scholars.
The historic initiative is being organized by the World Peace and Spiritual Science Society (GSPSS) in coordination with the World Yoga Alliance. For more than a decade, GSPSS has been actively promoting the “World Guru Nation” campaign by offering free yoga education, Yoga Alliance–certified training programs, and spiritual knowledge, contributing to the transformation of thousands of lives.
The spiritual journey will be guided by renowned yogi, philosopher, author, and professor Yogi Acharya Rajan Sharma. Under his leadership, the event aims to unite global seekers under a shared consciousness and spread messages of peace, love, and inner awakening.
Speaking about the initiative, GSPSS General Secretary Meena Sapkota described it as “a great movement for world peace and collective consciousness,” expressing confidence in its global impact.
The व्यवस्थापन (management) of this large-scale sacred event has been undertaken by the GSPSS Youth Wing, led by youth leaders Amrita Bhakta Kharel and Mihan Singh. They are actively engaged with dedication and service to ensure the success of the program.

Organizers have extended an open invitation to institutions, communities, and Nepal-loving individuals worldwide to participate in this historic initiative. They believe the campaign will help establish Nepal as a global center of spirituality while spreading messages of peace, unity, and higher consciousness across the world.
