Kawasoti, July 9: Excavation of the Kailash ashram here has led to the discovery of 15th century artefacts.
A total of 1,276 pieces of artefacts including stone carvings were recovered during the 17-day exploration by the Department of Archeology, according to Chair of Kailash Sannyas Ashram Durga Bhusal.
The excavation work was carried out after age-old goods were found during a renovation of the Ashram of historical and cultural significance. The Ashram located on the banks of the Narayani river in Sikrauli of Nawalparasi is believed to have been constructed in the 15th century, according to spokesperson of the Department Ram Bahadur Kunwar.
These new discoveries will help us know more about the history of human development in the region during the 15th century, Kunwar added. RSS
