Australia’s First Nepali Marriage Celebrant Bhimsen Sapkota Continues to Serve Community With 5,000+ Weddings
Sydney, Australia — The Nepali community in Australia has reached a new milestone of pride with the continued service of Bhimsen Sapkota, widely known as Yogi Acharya Rajan Sharma, who is officially recognised as the first Nepali marriage celebrant in Australia. Since 2009, he has successfully officiated more than 5,000 weddings, making him one of the most experienced and trusted celebrants in the Nepali and multicultural community.
Apart from being a licensed celebrant, Sapkota is also celebrated as a highly respected spiritual leader, professor, translator, motivational speaker, world record holder, and life counsellor. His services extend beyond traditional ceremony duties, offering free ceremonies for students, low-cost options for seniors, free astrology consultations, and even complimentary holiday visits to Pashupati Baudha Dham in Lyndhurst for selected couples.
The Happy Celebrant team also provides destination weddings, including arrangements with horses, palaki/doli, cultural rituals, and full spiritual blessings. His offices operate from the Sydney CBD, Riverwood, Orange, Dubbo, Bathurst, and Cowra, making services accessible to Nepali families across New South Wales.
Adding to this pride, the first Nepali lady marriage celebrant in Australia is Poonima Sanjel, who also serves the community with professionalism and dedication. Together, they represent a new chapter of Nepali identity, culture, and service in Australia.
Both celebrants are available 7 days a week, either at the couple’s chosen venue or in one of their offices.
