June 22:Ilam, Power production from the Maikhola Hydropower project has stopped after the intake of the project was damaged due to rain on Saturday.
Heavy downpour for two continuous days damaged the intake that flows water into the tunnel, according to electrical overseer at the project Ram Krishna Silwal.
It will take at least two to three weeks to repair the damage and resume power production, said
Silwal.The 4.5 MW project built by Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company is producing 3 MW of power.This is the second hydropower project after the 6.2 MW Puwakhola Project in the district.
