Kathmandu, May 18: Mr.Surendra Kumar Karki, Minister for Information and Communications has returned home yesterday night after attending the international conference on ‘One Belt One Road’ initiative held in the capital of China,Beijing.
upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister Karki expressed his confidence that the OBOR initiative would definately play a significant role in infrastructure development, expansion of rail network, operation of Nepal-China border points and enhancement of trade for Nepal.
Minister Karki had left for Beijing last Friday to attend the conference held from May 14 to 15. Some 1,200 delegates including Heads of state and governments of 29 countries, 100 ministers and equal number of representatives of various organisations took part in the conference.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara had lead an eight-member Nepali delegation to the conference, also including Communications Minister Karki and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak.
