(Nuwakot), June 27.Trishuli. A total of 288 families in constituency no.3 of Nuwakot are at risk of landslide due to the impact of the April 25 earthquake.
The district-level task force including geologists and engineers carried out a field study of the area covering one municipality and 18 VDCs and recommended to the district natural calamity committee for translocation of the settlements, according to chief of the district soil conservation office in Nuwakot Shyam Sundar Shrestha.
A report by the team points out that the Nepal telecom tower, irrigation canal and arable land in ward nos-7 and 9 of Fikuri VDC are at risk of being hit by landslides from above the hills.
As the rainy season has already started, the government should immediately resettle the households at risk, Shrestha said.
Similar field study in constituencies nos 1 and 2 of the district will also be carried out soon on the basis of the application received for the same from the locals, said assistant CDO Khagendra Ghimire.
