Social worker invests Rs 2.5 million for Dharmashala construction

June 16. Ilam,  Social worker Man Bahadur Gurung of Barbote VDC-7 in Ilam district has constructed a Dharmashala, free residences for the poor, at Narayansthan in Ilam Municipality in memory of his late father Ranabir Gurung.

Man Bahadur donated Rs 2.5 million for the construction of a two-storied earthquake-resistant new building as the old building constructed by his father in 1999 BS started to dilapidate.

Local Development Officer of Ilam Madan Koirala inaugurated the newly-constructed Dharmashala on Monday.

Similarly, Man Bahadur handed over the building to chairman of Narayansthan Religious Development Committee Ganesh Rai. Later Gurung had contributed a lot for the society in the district by constructing bridges over Jogmaikhola, Puwakhola and carrying out other works. RSS
