May 28. Babiyachaur (Myagdi),The people displaced by the landslide in Baisauri in Bhagwati-2 and Ramche-9 of Myagdi have been shifted to Rahupare in Piple-4 of the district.
Landslip from the Kafaldanda hills had displaced entire settlements in Bhagwati and Ramche. A total of 27 families were shifted to a public land in the Khoriya community forest on Wednesday. They had been taking temporary shelter in the Dhaulagiri primary school in Risin Chautari following the incident, according to assistant CDO Yam Bahadur Chokhal.
Nepal Red Cross Society, police, army, locals and volunteers from Beni have built 18 temporary tents for the displaced. The DDC and Water Supply Department have arranged drinking water for the displaced while support is also being received for food and clothing from various quarters.
Migrants from the area currently living in Pokhara, the Mangala Mothers’ Group of Beni and Galeswar Anna Chettra and ANNFSU have come to the rescue of the displaced, with food and clothing, the local administration said.
It may be noted that landslip from the Kafaldanda hills had clogged the Kaligandaki river last Sunday, and thereby displaced hundreds of families in the affected areas.
