International Buddha Conference on May 4-5

Kathmandu, The Lumbini-Kapilvastu Day Movement has decided to hold a two-day international conference on Buddha in Brussels on coming May 4-5. The conference is aimed at augmenting the publicity of Lumbini, the birthplace of the Lord Buddha, and to make clear the international community relating to the Buddha.
The International Committee of the Movement recently held an interaction to this regard in Brussels.
Norway national coordinator of the Movement and member of the International Conference Main Organizing Committee Dr Krishna Prasad Aryal and another member of the Committee, Damodar Prasad Acharya spoke on the importance of the conference. According to Dr Aryal, senior archaeologists, involved in the archaeological excavation at Lumbini, will present working papers at the conference.
Similarly, another member Mr Damodar said the conference would be very helpful to wipe out confusion about the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
He added that the address of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Nepal’s parliament had mentioned that Nepal is the birthplace of Lord Buddha which helped international community to be clear on Lord Buddha.
The Movement also held a discussion with the Nepali Ambassador to Belgium to this regard.
